Order Amendments
Need to add more parts to an existing order? You can increase the quantity of a part already on your order through the order amendment flow. You can also change its manufacturing options, replace its geometry, or remove it. Start from the existing order on rmfg.com.
Add more units of an existing part
- Sign in with the account associated with your order. Open your orders and select the existing order to reach its detail page at
/order/{id}. - Open the Order Amendment workflow by selecting Revise parts, the button currently shown on the order detail page.
- Select the part or assembly, then choose Change quantity/material. Set the quantity to the new total you want, then select Save configuration. For example, to add 2 units to a quantity of 5, set the quantity to 7. You can reuse the current STEP file for quantity and manufacturing option changes.
- Select Review complete revision and review the revised parts, original-value credit, amount due or refund, and estimated shipping and delivery dates. If production has started, use Submit complete design change to send the configuration, price, and revision note for factory approval first.
- Complete the approval and any required payment. Return to the original order detail page to check the active parts and amendment history. Saving a configuration or creating an amendment quote does not apply the change by itself.
Can I add a different part without replacing anything?
The current amendment flow edits items already on the order. It does not offer a separate action to append an unrelated new part. Use Upload new STEP only when you intend to replace the selected part or assembly; it does not keep that original item as an additional active item. For a new part that must join the same order, contact with the order ID and requested addition so we can check what is possible.
Eligibility and production stage
- You must be signed in to an account with access to the order. Cancelled or refunded orders cannot be revised online. Shipped, delivered, refunded, or superseded items cannot be revised online.
- Before production starts on the selected items, you can proceed directly to amendment review and payment. After production starts, the factory must approve the submitted change before you can pay for or apply it. Approval is not guaranteed. If production starts while you are preparing a revision, factory review may become necessary before you can finish.
- Assembly revisions apply to the entire assembly. Review all of its components and quantities before submitting.
- If an amendment is already in progress, open it and finish or cancel it before starting another. A submitted change waiting for factory review cannot be edited while that decision is pending.
Payment and credit
The original value of the items being revised is credited toward their replacements. Review the amendment's final total, including applicable tax, and pay any amount due. If nothing is due, you still need to approve the amendment. If the revision costs less, the amendment shows the refund due; it is processed after acceptance. Pending or declined factory reviews cannot be paid or applied.
Timing and shipping
Request changes as early as possible. Eligibility depends on the current production stage, so there is no guaranteed amendment window measured in hours after checkout. Complete approval and payment before the expiration date shown on the amendment quote; expired or cancelled quotes cannot be accepted.
Applied revisions stay on the original active order and reuse its shipping address. Changes can move the order's shipping and delivery estimates later to allow for the revised work. Check the dates on the amendment before approving; the original delivery date is not guaranteed after a change. Shipped, cancelled, or refunded orders cannot receive additional amendment items on that same order.
If the amendment is unavailable or the order has no reusable shipping address, contact with your order ID and the change you need.
