Design Requirements
Minimum Hole Size
Each loose part or completed weldment must have at least one hanging hole with a diameter of 2.2 mm or larger to be eligible for powder coating. Holes are used to hang parts during the coating process.
Connected components welded and coated together can share a hanging hole. A loose part with no qualifying hole cannot be powder coated.

Pricing
The total powder coating charge is calculated as:
Setup + (color-specific area allowance × quantity) + (labor and handling × quantity)
Setup is shared across the quantity of each quoted part. Within a welded assembly, components coated together share one setup per color and standard handling is charged per completed weldment. Separately quoted parts or assemblies can have separate setup charges.
The area allowance covers sandblasting, spraying and powder. Sheet pricing uses flat blank area; tube pricing uses exterior wall area. The selected color can change the area rate and setup price.
Labor and handling reflect the finished size and quantity of each coated part or completed weldment. Your quote includes the full amount in one labor and handling charge.
Base Per-Part Labor
Handling covers hanging, unhanging and routine handling/inspection. These base rates are tiered by quantity of coated units; final labor and handling also accounts for finished part size:

Small-part rates apply when the flat bounding box fits within 4" × 2" (101.6 mm × 50.8 mm), since these parts can be sandblasted in our automated tumbler.
